Facing Down the Ring Light
somatic tools for SELF TAPES
Coming Soon
Stop overthinking your self-tapes.
Imagine connecting to your gut instincts and full emotional range every time you turn on the camera.
In this body-based acting workshop, you’ll get out of your head and into your body—to release tension, free your impulses, and trust your body’s intelligence, even when the ring light clicks on.
You’ll apply these tools directly to audition material on camera, connecting the work to real-world circumstances.
Each actor will work on camera in front of the group and receive coaching and feedback.

WORKSHOP Format:
Day 1: TRAINING
Learn somatic techniques that release inhibition, expand emotional and imaginative range, and integrate text through the body.
The tools draw from Michael Chekhov, Meisner, Fitzmaurice Voicework, and other embodiment practices.*
*Even if you’ve trained in these techniques before, expect a fresh, distinctive approach.
Day 2: Application
A hybrid between private coaching and a somatic acting class.
You’ll apply Day 1 tools to a real audition side, scene, or monologue while Ellie coaches each actor individually on camera.
Actors leave with their footage to continue studying how their work translates on screen.
