SOMATIC TRAINING + SCENE WORK
Most acting training separates mind and body. This class puts them back together.
Somatic scene study integrates Meisner, Michael Chekhov, and mind/body release work with traditional scene work — unifying an actor's full instrument into one process.
Start breathing — your impulses come alive. Move your body — your emotions flow. Connect mind, body, and heart — you become undeniable.
If you've studied these techniques before, come prepared to be surprised. This may be quite different from what you've encountered.
We come together to do brave work.
For experienced actors.
Get out of your head. Reconnect to your instincts. Book work. Find an artistic home.
Students use the word "life-changing" a lot.
Wednesdays, 6–9pm. Ongoing.
Month-to-month after 3 months. $295/month
Ellie chooses and casts each scene to address each actor's individual challenges, using theater, film, and television scripts.
Students accepted by audition or interview — Email Ellie for more info.
There is also a small, invite-only advanced scene study with a similar format — reach out if you'd like to learn more.
What people are saying:
"An artistic defibrillation — shocking my energetic body and physical instrument back into the normal rhythm of a creative artist in flow. I left with tangible skills and a confidence in using them for my personal process. I highly recommend Ellie's somatic work." — Philip Stoddard, Camelot (Broadway), Juilliard '23"
"This is the most comfortable and safe I've felt in acting class…ever. I left with tangible tools I'm really looking forward to using."— Ariella Serur, 1776, Broadway
